Stan Lulewicz Joins GBA
Mr. Stan Lulewicz has joined Gahagan & Bryant Associates Inc., as a Senior Consulting Engineer. He recently retired from the Corps of Engineers after 33 years. During the last three years he served as an Assistant Chief of Planning Division for the Philadelphia District. Prior to that, he served as an independent Project Manager for large scale Corps of Engineers Civil Works Projects. Projects included deep-draft navigation, flood control, environmental restoration, and beneficial use of dredged material.
As a Project Manager his responsibilities included overall project management, effective coordination and accomplishment of the planning, scoping, development, design, construction, and direction of major projects. Projects managed were complicated by multiple sponsors/customers; major technical issues; conflicting interests of federal, state, and local government agencies, business and industry groups, and private citizens; and a variety of statutes and regulations.
Mr. Lulewicz was responsible for the completion of the pre-construction engineering and design study for the Delaware River 45 foot Main Channel Deepening Project ($10 million study with project construction of about $300 million). The project involves the excavation of about 19 million cubic yards of dredged material and placement at upland confined facilities as well using the dredged material for beneficial uses such as protection and restoration of wetlands and sand placement for beach nourishment.
Mr. Lulewicz brings a wealth of information and knowledge of the Delaware River Basin, which encompasses the states of: New York, New Jersey, Delaware, and The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He is very familiar with the Delaware River port complex facilities (public and private) and their operations.
Mr. Stan Lulewicz graduated from Villanova University with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and received a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from Drexel University. He is a registered professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
