JOB SUMMARY: Project Engineer with at least five years of experience in coastal engineering and dredging projects; responsible for technical, engineering, and construction related projects and assignments. May act in responsible charge of projects. Ensure managed projects are delivered on time and within scope and budget.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil, coastal, or ocean) or closely related discipline from an accredited program. Professional Engineer Licensure in Texas required on, or within three to six months of, date of hire.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manage and perform design tasks (including CAD work, quantity & cost estimates, permit applications, technical specifications, drawing preparation, and technical reports). Able to prepare complete plans, specifications, and project documents.
2. Manage and perform field activities as required (topographic & hydrographic surveying, material sampling & testing, field studies, and construction oversight & inspection).
3. Responsible for writing, preparation, and review of technical reports and projects documents (including analysis and interpretation of data).
4. Review engineering and technical work performed by others (for assigned tasks), while utilizing established methods of technical analysis and quality control for engineering work.
5. Assign tasks and direct work for engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.
6. Prepare scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
7. Assist with marketing tasks such as review of potential work, business development, and development of scopes, budgets and proposals in response to RFPs and client requests.
8. Meeting & event attendance as required, build successful team relationships and maintain positive interactions with clients and coworkers.
9. Able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team.
10. Has effective oral and written communication skills.
11. Assist with the training and mentoring of junior engineers (Engineer I) including providing guidance, explaining professional responsibilities, and reviewing work products.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
1. TWIC Card: Maintain access to nation’s maritime facilities and vessels. Keep current.
2. Stay updated on the technical aspects of dredging, coastal, surveying and other industry related events.
HEALTH & SAFETY
1. USACE: Maintain 16-hr EM 385-1-1 training with annual 8-hr refresher.
2. Red Cross: Keep First Aid/CPR/AED and Bloodborne Pathogen training current.
